Lockhart’s wonderful Spirit of the Land Festival promises a whole weekend of family entertainment. In addition to the famous National Farm Art Sculpture Award, enjoy fine arts and indigenous arts exhibitions, “Make It, Bake It, Grow It, or Breed It” themed market stalls,  live music all day, and a fantastic fireworks display on Saturday evening.

The 2022 Spirit of the Land Festival is on the Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 October. The exhibitions will be open the following:

Spirit of the Land 2022 Program – What’s on Where

Brookong Lagoon, Green Street
Enjoy a stroll through the main sculpture area where you will find the jaw dropping Farm Art Sculptures as well as other entries. Spend an hour or two wandering among some wonderful creations. In this area you will also find live music, food and craft stalls, and it is the main viewing area for the magnificent Saturday evening fireworks display.

Memorial Hall, Green Street
Fine arts and photography exhibitions, open on Saturday from 9am to 4pm, and Sunday from 9am to 2pm. $7 per adult entry (includes sculpture exhibition spaces). Don’t forget to enter the People’s Choice Award at both exhibition spaces.

Town Centre, Green Street
Street Stalls open from 9am on Saturday and 9am to 2pm on Sunday, with more than 100 stalls selling unique, fashionable and high quality goods.  Local businesses open all day with special weekend bargains. There is a children’s entertainment area at the south-western end of Green Street.

Spirit of the Land Office, Green Street, Lockhart
Open from Wednesday 28 September, and located between Latte Da Cafe and Bush & Campbells offices, call in and find out all about the Festival and check out the Spirit of the Land mementos available for purchase. Festival map available from office.

Greens Gunyah Museum, Information Centre and the Doris Golder Wool Art Gallery – Corner Green and Urana Streets
Wander through the museum to check out our quaint collection of memorabilia; visit our Information Centre for all your general tourist enquiries; and make sure you check out the amazing wool portraits in the Doris Golder Wool Art Gallery and the new Tim Fischer Gallery ($5 entry). Open 9.30 am till 4.30 pm Saturday and Sunday.

Open Gardens (TBC)
This year the Festival has open gardens for you to enjoy.  Visit town and country gardens within 20km of Lockhart. Sunshine Iris Farm will also be open. Admission to gardens is just a gold coin donation!  Gardens open from 10am – 4pm on Saturday and 10am – 2pm on Sunday.

Farm Tours (TBC)
For a gold coin donation take part in our working farm tour. Only a short bus ride out of town and you will get to experience shearing in action, see the latest agricultural machinery and view crops waiting to be harvested. Tours will leave at 11.30 am and 1.30 pm, from opposite the caravan park.  A trip of one to two hours. Limited places available on Saturday ONLY. Please register at the Spirit of the Land office (in Green Street) by 11am for the first tour, or 1pm for the second tour.


SOL Cycle (TBC)
The Spirit Of The Land Festival is inviting all cyclists to join in the festivities by riding in the SOL Ride event. The route for the ride includes one of the best cycling roads in the district – County Boundary Road. The route is a 26km ride out to Milbrulong and back into Lockhart. The aim is to enjoy the ‘path less ridden’, with the finish back in Lockhart in time to enjoy the days festivities, which includes amazing sculptures, fine arts, live music, stalls, great food and much more.  ENTRY IS FREE and is therefore a self reliant ride.  Contact Nick Mathews on 0427 205 608 for further information.

Clem Gooden Oval
Free caravan and RV overflow parking for the Spirit of the Land Festival will be available at Clem Gooden Oval, so spread the word! The outdoor toilet facilities at the adjoining golf club will be made available, as will the toilet and shower facilities at the Lockhart Ex-Servicemen’s Club.
