ARTISTS AND THE SPIRIT OF THE LAND FESTIVAL
In 2006, when the Spirit of the Land Festival began, farmers were encouraged to use their skills to enter a farm art sculpture competition. The Festival has grown over this time and other exhibitions were added, to now include Fine Arts Painting and Photography.
FINE ARTS PAINTING
SPIRIT OF THE LAND AND ITS PEOPLE
We are looking for art works that celebrate the spirit of the land, its people, flora, fauna, and lifestyle of living on the land, and their important connection to each other.
This is an open section and may depict subject matter of the artist’s choice.
This section is open to indigenous artists whose work celebrates the spirit of the land, its people, flora and fauna.
SPIRIT OF THE LAND PHOTOGRAPHY, AUSTRALIAN SPIRIT OF THE LAND
We are looking for striking photographic prints encompassing landscape, portrait, and people in our landscape, and image that best captures ‘Australian Spirit of the Land’.
Fine Arts Awards (any medium excluding photography)
Spirit of the Land and its People Award – $1,000
Open Section Award – $500
Indigenous Artwork – $500
Fine Arts Photography
Australian Spirit of the Land – $1,000
Australian Spirit of the Land, Highly Commended – $500
Youth Award Australian Spirit of the Land – $500
People’s Choice Award Fine Arts or Photography
Fine Arts or Photography – $1,000
Registration is open to all emerging and established artists. Artists may exhibit in any or all categories. There is no limitation on the number of entries.
Entry fee is $5 for each entry payable to Spirit of The Land Lockhart Inc.
Early registration is encouraged, and an ‘Intention to Exhibit’ can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday 24 September 2021
Entries close at 5pm on Thursday 30 September 2021.
A brief resume and personal photograph is requested for promotion purposes and to use with displays during the Festival.
INSTALLATION OF ARTWORKS
Installation of artworks will be on thursday 7 October 2021 . The Festival officially opens on Saturday 9 October 2021 and will close on Sunday 10 October 2021. Artwork can be collected on Sunday 10 October 2020 from 2 pm. Judging will take place on Friday 8 October 2021.
Prize winners will be announced on Friday evening 8 October 2021 at the Spirit of the Land Awards Presentation Night.
