All Day Street Party
From 10am till late. In the street, in the park. Music everywhere all the time, from bands to choirs, from buskers to muso's. On Saturday and Sunday Full program will be available soon.
Arts Trail and Auction
If you know what farmers can do with No. 8 fencing wire, just see what they create this year with the National Farm Sculpture Award, exhibitions of paintings, indigenous arts, ceramics, multimedia. For music lovers it’s a two day showcase in the main Street and in Halliday Street, culminating in an Art Auction of Sculptures on Sunday 11th October at 1pm. Maybe you can take home a unique piece of Australian Art. Silent bids are accepted through the Spirit of the Land office in Matthews Street and online.

ELEMENTS: With a $10,000 first prize an "acquisition sponsorship". . The first prize winner's work will be kept either by the major sponsor or the Spirit of the Land Committee in our "Arts trail".
National Farm Sculpture Exhibition
"Elements of the Land”
First prize of $10,000 and secondary prizes awarded in other categories. Sculptures are created from recycled or new farm materials or any natural element of the land. Large Sculptures will be exhibited in Walter Day Park and at selected venues in the Main Street. Smaller sculptures will be exhibited at The Rio Theatre adjacent to Walter Day Park. Registrations can be made on line.

Fine Arts Exhibition:
“Expressions of the Land”
This includes paintings, indigenous arts, photography, ceramics, quilting, multimedia, jewelry and other art forms. The main exhibition areas are the Lockhart Memorial Hall, the Spirit of the Land office and selected venues in the Main Street of Lockhart. Prize money awarded in these sections. Culinary Arts:
We all know about home fare and bush tucker. But how about art in the kitchen and on the table? Exhibits will be featured as part of the Celebration dinner: Bush Banquet on Saturday 10th October..
Artists in Workshop
This is a new concept for the Festival. An artist's camping area has been designated with shower and toilet facilities. Those that wish to work can take advantage of welding and carpentry safety areas. The site is adjacent to Walter Day Park. Farmers have indicated they will bring in trucks with scrap metal for sale on Thursday and Friday mornings: times to be confirmed. Art created can be sold directly to the public.

Artists Meet and Greet
For artists and friends. A chance to swap ideas, meet local, interstate and visiting international artists. Enjoy a selection of wines, finger food and boutique beers.

Brooklock Studio

At sunset on the Saturday night we are privileged to have men's opera singing a collection of tunes to set the scene for a fabulous night of entertainment before presentation of Art Awards:
Country Bash: “Party time” Cover Charge
Saturday night in the Lockhart's Main Street from 6pm till late. Time to party…: a little bit of R & B and Country with "Crossroads" and surprise talent. You can dress up, dress down, or just come as you are and bring your own esky. An array of food available.
But just wait for it Rhonda Burchmore will be singing for us at the street party. Wow what a night. From television to the big screen, musical theatre to opera to cabaret, there are few entertainment mediums that Rhonda has not done. She is a spectacular entertainer and singer. Dinner Party
Its balladeers, bands, musicians, choirs, buskers, yarn tellers in showcase performances in the Lockhart Pool Complex, 10th October from 9am till Midnight. We may even spill into Sunday 11th October. If you want to join us contact us on line. We’d love to hear from you.
Food & Wine Festival
Chooses from stalls selling Chinese, Italian, Arabic, Korean and other multicultural dishes. Enjoy a good ole Aussie BBQ or sausage sizzle or if times a tough just bring your own hamper and pig out with us with free rides for kids while eat and listen to the entertainment.
Tootool
See the giant hay sculptures and garden paradise created by locals (only six houses in the village). Original artwork in the rotunda and other sculptures. Winner of numerous awards. Just 15 minutes from Lockhart on the road to the Rock.
Dunny and Shearing Shed Tours
This is a must. If you’re a history buff then check this out. Historic shearing sheds on stations that shaped Australian social and political history.
Old Urangeline, complete with the old village: shearer’s quarters, bakery, blacksmith, shops and shearing shed with 100 stands all built without a single nail. The dunnies are an artist’s delight: in all shapes and sizes. Urangeline Station and surrounding buildings a real treat. For a guided and historical information tour. Heritage Walk
Buy a house for $68 dollars? Not in this decade! But see what settlers outlaid for family homes and businesses earlier this century. A leisurely stroll around the streets of Lockhart accompanied by a trusty map, filled with local knowledge of many historical sites. View the Greek architecture of Sir Nick Laurantus with "The Rio" one of 14 picture theatres he built in the Riverina in the 1930's. Enjoy a milkshake at the famed Blue Bird Cafe. Guided tours are available but bookings are required.
Market Day Extravaganza
Do your remember sugar and spice and all things nice? Linen and Lace, pen and paste, a touch of bling or a beautiful thing? What about granny's preserves, home made jams, camp oven bread, the taste of home baked cakes and fresh fruit & vegies? Some of the treats in store and there's plenty more.....

Open Gardens
Once again the drought has been one to forget. We are doing all we can to have gardens open to the public as we have so many of outstanding gardens in our area. So keep a few spare hours to visit them.

Soaring Club
Glide across Galore Hill and the plains with the Wagga Wagga Soaring Club on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th October 2009. The club operates from the Lockhart Airstrip, 3 kms on the Collingullie Rd, Flights are l for a minimum of 20 minutes and could last longer than an hour at a cost of $150.
