Spirit of the Land Festival  8^th – 9^th October 2011

We invite your sponsorship in this year’s Spirit of the Land Festival Lockhart which hosts Australia’s only National Farm Sculpture Award for art created from recycled farm materials and elements of the land.  

Lockhart is a rural town on the eastern edge of the Riverina region of NSW. Our Festival has grown over five years to attract artists and visitors from around the country to our small community of 800 residents. With national and international media attention, we have had film crews from China, USA, UK, New Zealand, Brazil, Germany and the UK and last year from Portugal as well. The 2009 Spirit of the Land Festival received the NSW Industry and Investment award for Events and Tourism 2010 in the Regional Achievement and Community Awards.

This year Lockhart Shire Council are the Platinum Sponsors of our $10,000 First Prize for the National Farm Sculpture Award. However naming rights, corporate branding, and other sponsorship opportunities exist with the following -

Our Festival has been successful in contributing to the alleviation of these difficult economic times firstly impacted by drought and in more recent times flooding, in not only our own rural community but nation wide. This has again triggered off a spate of rural suicides, of despair and hopelessness. The Festival is a celebration of our community reaching out offering a time of relaxation, fun and a chance to chat to your neighbour or welcome a visitor. We bring together the cultural diversity of our indigenous artists, the ingenuity of our sculptors, and the best of local artistic talent, and match this with a huge weekend of Market Stalls in the true country fair style. This is your opportunity to be part of the building of resilience in the rural sector, to put something back into the community, and to reach many local and interstate visitors over a fun filled weekend.
